Downloadable Books

While you may not be able to get some bestsellers online yet, there are many books you can get your hands on, such as new author’s works and classics. Moreover, many downloadable books are less costly than printed ones and some you can even get for free. There are really some great sites you can check out for all your book needs.

1. Project Gutenberg provides almost 30,000 books that you can download for free.

2.  Google Books have an extensive catalog of free eBooks which range from nonfiction, fiction, magazines and many more.

3. English Online Resources makes available thousands of books, most of them in a public domain. While some texts are available only to VIVA affiliates, you can find great treasures for literary classics in this Virtual Library of Virginia site.

4. Electronic Literature Foundation or LEF has advanced electronic of Western classical works that could be used by scholars, students and lovers of literature throughout the world. The library has currently 129 works by 20 authors; all can be accessed for free.

5. AuthorHouse is a registered member for free and store downloaded books in a personal library. They sell hardback or paperback editions as well.

6. DorrancEbooks let you buy books and download them on your computer right away. There are some classics that you can get for free.
