Online Book—an Explanation

Thousands of books from novels, stories, poems, handbooks, textbooks and more can be yours for free online! However, you will not be able to get all these books for free but you can get them at a very affordable price compared to buying a physical book. An online book is a resource in book format that is only available on the internet. It is different from an eBook, which is downloadable and can be read on an eBook reader.

An online book is presented in several pages and can only be read when you are online. It is the same as reading a printed book except that you are reading it on your computer and can only be accessible on the internet. Book publishing was an expensive process that needs a printing press, editing, transportation and inventory expenses. The costs of materials and transportation made the prices of books very high over the past decades.

Publishing online books are not burdened by these costs. While it has fees, it is cheaper compared to print book publishing. An online book publisher employs staff to filter unusable manuscripts, editors to correct and publishing executives to decide on the book and the website. An online book publisher also hires a graphic artist to create digital covers. Overall, the costs of an online book are considerably lower than the costs of a printed book.
